WHAT IS SHINRIN OF SOUND?

The name Shinrin of Sound was inspired by the healing art of Shinrin-Yoku, a traditional Japanese therapy that was developed in the early 1980's.

Shinrin-Yoku, which literally means Forest Bathing, involves immersing oneself in nature by mindfully using all five senses. Shinrin-Yoku became a pivotal part of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine, with research showing positive calming effects that reduces stress and boosts the immune system.

Shinrin of Sound, meaning forest of sound, intends to combine the magic of nature with the beautiful instruments of gongs, singing bowls, wind chimes and more. The incredible healing properties of the instruments are based on the idea that the flow of energy vibrating through our bodies can sometimes become out of sync, causing a kind of weakness in our mind and body. As each instrument creates powerful vibrations that resinates through every cell in our bodies, the sound frequencies can restore and harmonise the flow of energy in parts of the body where required.
